uninstalling ain v5 9

uninstalling ain v5.9

i put aim v5.9 on vista. when it was first installed on the pc it was working. now vista says it is not compatible and that there r lots of issues with certian files. how do i get rid of it. the uninstaller is having issues. i would like to know how to get rid of AIM. well right now its working. aim seems to be unstable/ its like every other time it works or it doesn't. please help. is there a better IM client that i can use?

Yes, there is a better client. AIM has a brand new console for interface with AIM Triton. I believe it is a beta programs, but if you're participating in the Vista beta program you should be fine. All of your buddies will be imported when you install. The Triton download can be found on the homepage at aim.com.
As for uninstalling, you say AIM is working OK? If it is, just tell it not to turn on when Windows starts. That way you can just ignore it.

Another alternative to AIM is GAIM. I just downloaded it and successfully installed it with no problems. Give it a try:

I have tried installing 5.9 and triton, they both stop installing at approx 70%. I left one over night, and it was still sitting there the next morning. Thinkin about looking for another program. Maybe GAIM.

Yes, GAIM works with Vista. "Chris Johnston" wrote in message

May I also add that GAIM isn't nearly as bloated as AIM Triton. Why is AOL software of any kind bloated these days? No wonder why they're losing customers. (At least I think) I've been using high-speed Internet for four years now and would never go back to dial-up. "Travis King" wrote in message
